After a successful sport career, the stallion of Ludwig and Yasmine Criel was only used for breeding at the age of 16. Under Joe Clee, William Whitaker and Niels Bruynseels, the attractive son of Diamant de Semilly jumped at the highest level and with all three he achieved the greatest successes! Utamaro won the Nations Cups of Rotterdam , La Baule and the GP of Lummen with Joe. Utamaro won the London-Olympia World Cup with William and took part in the WEG in Tryon. With Niels, the stallion traveled the world to win prizes in Mexico, Estoril, Aachen and became 2nd in the Nations Cup of La Baule! Utamaro d’Ecaussines Z is not very tall, but left behind many greats in his career. He excelled because of his perfect technique and speed, which he combined with a super canter and rideability. That made him a winner and it is expected that he will also pass those qualities on to his sons and daughters. Utamaro d’Ecaussines Z was most often used on larger blood mares that could use speed and quality, the future of this ‘young’ sire is assured!
